Alessandro Cidda (1964) was born in Rome. He studied sociology, social psychology and communication. He’s an all-round creative and has worked continuously for over 20 years with major Italian companies and institutions, designing creative solutions for product development and service expansion. He approached photography in the late 80’s dedicating himself to street photography and reportage. In 2001 he published his first book of photographs dedicated to a trip to Africa, and in 2006 he published Le Erme del Gianicolo (The Herms of Janiculum) that officially entered in the repertoire of Capitolina Library and the Museum of the Risorgimento of Rome.

In 2005 he started working in studio investigating the Fantasy world and its characters. In 2006 he exhibited, at the Monocromo gallery in Rome, his first series of Fantasy portraits called Fenomeni (Phenomena), which now counts more than 50 portraits. Portraits alongside the realization of themed compositions involving Batman as the main witness. In 2008 the Ennagon Gallery in New York dedicated him a solo exhibit where Fenomeni were exposed in large format together also with part of the Fantarealistica compositions.

In 2010 the Marino Golinelli Foundation purchased, at the auction organized by Christie's at the Macro Museum in Rome, in favor of IMI for Research on Melanoma, the work titled BatTwins of the Fantarealistica series.

His main photographic and exhibition work is related to the world of in-studio Fantasy.

He also produces more traditional secondary works, mainly dedicated to fragments of life and the accumulation of memories of people and places he encounters.

In this area he has published in 2012 Il Cielo In Una Stanza (Heaven in a room) dedicated to the 14 square meters house of a Discalced Carmelite of Casoria (NA), and Il Tempo e Il Materiale (Time and Material) dedicated to Cinears, the historical sculpture and plastic workshop at Cinecittà.
