Tewfik Salem is a self-taught visual artist from Algeria, active since 2010 in a dedicated art workshop at the House of Culture in his city. Working primarily with oil paints on canvas, he draws inspiration from Impressionism, Classicism, and Romanticism art movements that are vividly reflected in his work. His artistic journey began as a member of a local art association, through which he participated in numerous national exhibitions and salons. Salem's paintings combine the refined techniques of classical art with the atmospheric light and color of Impressionism, infused with the emotional depth and poetic spirit of Romanticism. Inspired by both Algerian and international landscapes, as well as moments from everyday life, his works are recognized for their rich colors, layered textures, and ability to stir both thought and feeling. Passionate about artistic exchange, he seeks to share his vision on the international stage and connect with artists from around the world.
For the 2025 Rome Art Week, he is proudly presenting his oil on canvas piece, 'colorado (100 x 80 cm), an artwork that exemplifies his expressive technique and thematic focus on the beauty of the natural world. He aims to contribute an authentic and original voice to the international cultural dialogue promoted by the "Rue de la Vie" exhibition.
