Mini Bio:
Visual artist, 29 years old, from Florida, Uruguay.
She is currently part of the jury for the 2024 Paul Cézanne Prize, created in 1982 by the French Embassy in Uruguay to support the artistic creation of young Uruguayan talents. She is exhibiting her solo show "Silvestre, Silvestro" at the IILA (ITALO-LATIN AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION), Rome, Italy, where she also presented her book “Mujer Abrojo.”
Recently, she was selected for the 61st National Visual Arts Prize 2024 - Clever Lara, with the exhibition currently on view at the EAC until March. In 2024, she exhibited at the CCE Centro Cultural España, Montevideo, Uruguay, with the project TREPIDA and conducted research on botany and feminisms during a residency at AADK in Blanca, Murcia, Spain, previously awarded the Víctor Haedo FEFCA scholarship by the Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC).
In 2023, she participated in a residency and open studio at the Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris, France, with a scholarship from the Institut Français, and exhibited at the Uruguayan Embassy in Paris.
She also completed a residency at Jabutipê, a cultural space in Porto Alegre, Brazil, where she exhibited and studied lithography at the Museu do Trabalho. She was selected as the artist to create the work for the 2023 National Territorial Planning and Urbanism Award and received the 2023 Regional Culture Fund, a continuation of the ongoing residency-editorial project “Mujer Abrojo.”
In 2022, she completed a Postgraduate Degree in Art, Communication, and Memory at FLACSO Argentina. She studied at the Facultad de Artes UDELAR, earning a degree in Fine and Visual Arts. She won the First Prize of the 40th edition of the Paul Cézanne Award for Visual Artists, exhibited at the SUBTE Montevideo and the MACA Manantiales, Maldonado. She received the Interior Art Support Fund from the Visual Arts Institute - MEC - for her residency project “Control de Malezas” in Vatelon, Villa Soriano, 2022, later exhibited solo at MAVEA Florida and the Montevideo Departmental Council in 2023.
She is the founder and member of the feminist collective La Truca, which was awarded the Fortalecidas Fund in 2022 by the Municipality of Montevideo for a community project carried out in 2023.
She graduated as a teacher from the IPA (Artigas Professors Institute) in 2017 in the area of Visual Communication and has been working in the field since she was 20.
She has participated in art clinics with the artist Ce Vignolo and was part of Gustavo Tabares’ studio from 2020 to 2023. She was selected for the 59th National Visual Arts Award "Margaret Whyte." She has been exhibiting collectively and individually since 2012 in Uruguay and abroad.
