Visual Artist Liana Miuccio uses photography and video to explore identity, memory and migration. Miuccio's images have been exhibited internationally including her recent solo exhibit, Visual Diary, at the Galleria D’Arte Moderna of Rome.
Miuccio’s photographs are part of the permanent collection of the Museum of the City of New York. Other solo exhibitions include the Ellis Island Immigration Museum in New York, the Casa della Memoria/International Festival di Fotografia Roma, Villa Trabia, Palermo and the University of Pennsylvania’s Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, Philadelphia. Her photographs have been published across the world in publications including the New York Times, the Financial Times, Vogue, the Boston Globe, the Globe and Mail, Repubblica’s “D”, Il Corriere Della Sera, l’Espresso and L’Internazionale.
Miuccio is a Lecturer of Photography at Cornell and Temple Universities in Rome. Miuccio received her BA degree in Humanities from McGill University, in Montreal Canada and a Masters Degree in Cinema from the University of Roma Tre. She is also an Arts Advisor at the American Academy in Rome.
