Anastasia Norenko is an Italian landscape painter, born in Zolotonosha, Ukraine, in 1994.
She graduated in 2024 from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, with a degree in painting under the guidance of Vincenzo Scolamiero. She also studied at the fine art academies of Dresden (HfBK) and Budapest (MKE) thanks to scholarships awarded by the European Eu4Art project.
That same year, she organized Festa Triste (Sad Party), a pivotal event in her artistic journey. During this performative event, she ritually shaved her head and symbolically married the spirit of Painting, pledging lifelong fidelity and union to it.
Anastasia’s work is deeply rooted in painting as an implicit protest or act of resistance against the omnipresent intervention of technology in contemporary artistic practices, which she invites us to reflect upon. Her pictorial activity is based on en plein air painting, reflecting her profound and intimate connection with nature and the landscape, often enriched with figures that are either observed directly from life or drawn from her imagination.
In 2025, Anastasia became convinced that she was inhabited by the spirit of John Constable.
She currently collaborates with the Von Buren Gallery in Rome and Ufofabrik Contemporary Art Gallery in Moena (Trentino), working from her studio in the Pigneto neighbourhood of Rome.
Her most recent exhibitions include:
