MariaCarmelaMilano is a textile artist. Her research develops in the relationship between body and space,
bringing a dialogue between anatomy and geography. The body becomes a territory to be traversed, and textile fiber
an organic material capable of transforming into a map, a body, and a language.
Through textiles, she explores the connections between organic, social, and urban fabric,
constructing patterns in which memory, relationships, and places overlap.
For her, textiles are also a language: warp, weft, thread, and mending belong as much to the material
as to the narrative. Weaving and narrating are the same gesture.
Her research opens to a participatory dimension through textile art workshops with neurodivergent individuals,
children, and communities, where making becomes a space for relationships, expression, and inclusion.
