Born in 1962, Ayman Wanas is the founding Dean of the College of Arts and Design at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (2023). He holds a PhD in Architectural Engineering from Helwan University, a Master’s degree in Architecture from Helwan University, and a Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering from Cairo University.
Currently, Ayman serves as the Advisor to the President of the Academy for Arts and Design, and is a consultant in public and touristic buildings. Ayman was appointed Head of the Department of Architecture at the College of Engineering and Technology at the Arab Academy, and later served as its Vice Dean. He also works as a professor of architectural and urban design.
Through an academic understanding of heritage and design aesthetics, Ayman has contributed to the preservation of the architectural and urban heritage of Cairo. He has published books and research on architecture, urbanism, and their relationship with the arts to promote social cohesion.
He played a key role in establishing and developing the Department of Architecture at the Arab Academy in Cairo, and has led numerous architectural projects in Egypt where art is considered a core element of the design process. Additionally, Ayman has participated in multiple exhibitions, including a solo exhibition in the Isis Hall, Mahmoud Mokhtar Museum.
