Rita Duchi is a visual artist and curator who holds a degree in Contemporary Visual Arts from the SantaGiulia Academy of Fine Arts in Brescia. Her practice spans painting and material exploration, with a particular focus on clay and its plastic and symbolic potential. Her choice of clay as a medium stems from a primal, almost instinctive need. According to myth, the first human being was shaped from earth; we belong to the earth, and in it we recognize our origin. It is an ancestral element—both concrete and symbolic—through which Duchi explores the relationship between human beings, nature, and spirituality. Her artistic exploration is constantly evolving and unfolds as a personal pilgrimage along the paths of the sacred, guided by the observation of nature and the search for what connects the human experience to its earthly essence. Alongside her artistic practice, she cultivates an interest in the relationships between art, places, and people, working in the fields of curation and cultural strategies.
