He was born in Piombino (Livorno) on June 22, 1960, and grew up in the nearby town of San Vincenzo. His aptitude for drawing became apparent during his school years. A pivotal moment was his meeting with the painter and woodcut artist Carlo Guarnieri, from whom he learned to use graphite pencil and, subsequently, sanguine chalk. In 1974, he moved to Florence, where he enrolled first in the *Liceo Artistico* (Art High School) and later in the painting program at the Academy of Fine Arts, studying under the prestigious guidance of Goffredo Travarelli. In 1983, he attended the Academy’s *Scuola Libera del Nudo* (Life Drawing School).
Since 1987, he has held a teaching position in Painting Disciplines at the Luciano Bianciardi State Art High School in Grosseto.
He has participated in numerous cultural initiatives for the municipalities of Castagneto Carducci and San Vincenzo, curating prestigious exhibitions (featuring artists such as Nativi, Scatizzi, Venturino, and Talani); he has also designed theatrical sets, created posters, and illustrated books by various authors.
The 2000s saw a marked interest in printmaking, leading him to experiment with its various techniques.
Throughout this time, he has continued his artistic exploration in painting, developing a distinctive technique and style.
