La Nuova Pesa was born in April 1959 in Rome, in via Frattina, from the initiative of Alvaro Marchini. Roman entrepreneur creating a space for contemporary art of international appeal. After a decade of suspension of activity Simona Marchini, his daughter, reopened the gallery in 1985, resuming the interrupted activity, with the need to create an environment that welcomes and encourages contact between different artistic disciplines.
