Tornabuoni Arte was founded in 1981 in Florence on Via Tornabuoni, thanks to Roberto Casamonti's passion for art; a passion inherited from his father, a collector of 20th-century Italian art.

Over the years, the gallery, in addition to its main office in Lungarno Cellini in Florence, inaugurated exhibition venues in Milan (1995), Forte dei Marmi (2004), Tornabuoni Arte Antica (2006), Rome (2023) as well as foreign venues in Crans Montana, Switzerland (1993), Paris (2009), and London (2015).

The exhibition activity in the different galleries is developed in organizing an annual exhibition with the aim of presenting a selection of major international artists of the 20th century (such as Christo, Jean Dubuffet, Hans Hartung, Wifredo Lam, Matta, Joan Miró, Pablo Picasso, Serge Poliakoff, Andy Warhol) together with the main historicized artists of the Italian artistic reality of the early and second half of the 20th century (among them: Giacomo Balla, Alighiero Boetti, Alberto Burri, Enrico Castellani, Mario Ceroli, Giorgio de Chirico, Piero Dorazio, Lucio Fontana, Piero Manzoni, Marino Marini, Giorgio Morandi, Arnaldo Pomodoro, Paolo Scheggi.

Today, the gallery continues its research and in-depth activity with regard to both the historicized and most significant experiences of twentieth-century art and new contributions by contemporary.

The gallery is present annually in major contemporary art fairs such as Fiac in Paris, Tefaf in Maastricht and New York, Art Basel in Basel, Miami Beach, Hong Kong, Frieze Masters in London, Arte Fiera in Bologna, Miart in Milan.

Tornabuoni Art also works closely with museums and institutions. Thanks to its experience and knowledge of the work of the artists it represents, the gallery has also made a name for itself in consulting work aimed at public and private collections.
