Micro is a tiny space selling prints, posters and stationery in the heart of Rome, there where the Monti district overlooks the Imperial Forum. It is just 9 square meters completely invaded by illustration and graphic design, a multitude of creativity on paper.
Friday, Oct. 25 | from 6-9 p.m. we present the “one-shot” exhibition MM21-24 by Andrea Di Lorenzo
MM21-24
An acronym for Monday Mix 21-24 (or also 2021-2024, a reference to Roman numerals to recall the author's city of residence), MM21-24 is a selection of 101 photographs published by Andrea Di Lorenzo (a photographer active for 15 years in portraying Italian hospitality) within his “box of ideas” on his Instagram profile: the Monday Mix. A cross between Dua Lipa's photo-dumps and Spotify's Discover Weekly, inside of which Andrea poured all those images taken with his cell phone that, as for most all people who take pictures with a phone, would have been lost, forgotten: memory lost and occupied unnecessarily.
Over a period of more than three years, every Monday, Andrea has offered his audience a selection of heterogeneous images, related to daily or professional routines, while developing an aesthetic inextricably linked to the medium and the final frame: they are low-fi images, made with direct flashes, more or less contrasted, detail and panorama, usable only through the small screens of mobile devices.
With MM21-24, 101 of these images acquire volume and tangibility: printed on an A5 sheet, without too much altering the original dimensions of image fruition, each in a single numbered and signed copy, the photos will not only be exhibited but also for sale, precisely to mark the work on recovery and on the author's transitional image.
