The Cultural Activities Department ensures the coordination and promotion of the activities generated by the realities on the territory, and by the institutions and entities of the Table of Contemporary Production with the aim of fostering citizen participation in cultural life through the stimulation of artistic production and the enhancement of the languages of contemporary and science. Among its responsibilities are the authorization activities for public performances and filming, the management of service contracts with Zètema Progetto Cultura and Azienda Speciale Palaexpo, the disbursement of grants to support cultural entities of which Roma Capitale is a founding partner, the Observatory on Cultural Participation and Non-Participation, and the international project dedicated to cultural rights “The Rome 2020 Charter.”
