The exhibition, curated by Federico Papa, presents a significant selection of Spin Paintings, works in which color bursts into centrifugal vortices enclosed in symbolic forms such as hearts, butterflies, skulls, and circles. Damien Hirst, one of the most prominent figures in the international contemporary scene, began his research in the 1980s with the Young British Artists, exploring the great themes of existence: life, death, faith, science, and the very value of art. The Spin Paintings, among his most iconic series, entrust the construction of the image to movement and chance: color is thrown onto rotating canvases, where centrifugal force distributes it into unpredictable trajectories, creating powerful radial compositions. The result is an explosion of energy, vitality, and creative freedom, reflecting Hirst’s fascination with the expressive force of color. Despite their apparent lightness, these works belong to a broader path in which the artist continues to question the deep relationship between life, death, and human fragility.
