Merysse, the stage name of Maria Teresa De Pierro, is a singer-songwriter and cultural entrepreneur who makes music a way of life, a bridge to connect people, and a tool to give voice to what she believes in.
Born in Benevento, her story began at a very young age, when at just 8 years old she discovered the thrill of the stage during her first performance.
That passion never left her, and at 16 she began translating her inner worlds into notes and words, writing her first songs.
She honed her talent through studies at the Lizard Music Academy in Verona and, driven by her love for singing, joined the prestigious Disney Italia in Rome, a place where exceptional artists are trained and magic comes to life.
Her music exists on multiple levels: she is signed with Sony Music Publishing, with a discography that started in 2012 and continues to grow with new releases.
But it is on stage that her energy is fully unleashed: from major international events (such as “The Extreme Tour” in Manchester, where she was the only Italian) to performing on the streets, which she considers the most authentic and immediate stage.
Alongside music, she has developed a strong desire to make a difference.
As founder of the association Istinti Artistici, she brings to life artistic projects and events throughout Italy to support inclusion and combat violence against women, collaborating with schools and even bringing her voice to the Campidoglio.
In 2025, this social drive expanded with the foundation of Fusioni in Movimento, a new Roman association combining sports, culture, and youth engagement.
Her achievements have been recognized with prestigious awards such as the Premio Lunezia, the International Artist of the Year Award in Brussels, and, more recently, the Premio Italia 2025.
In 2024, she chose Rome as her home, a strategic life change to fully immerse herself in that crossroads of art and cultural projects, where she is already writing her next chapter.
In 2025, she debuted a European tour, starting in Rome, where she designed and carried out an event at Palazzo Valentini for the Rome Future Week, sponsored by the European Committee of the Regions, and concluding in Brussels, under the patronage of the European Commission and the Italian Embassy, where she presented her projects to the European Parliament, combining music and social engagement.
Every step she takes confirms that her art is not just notes and words, but a tangible bridge between people, a tool for connection and change.
