CLAUDIA CHIANESE

Born in 1969. She graduated in Visual Arts in Rome, specializing in graphic design at Centrostudi Comunicazione Sogno Associati with top honors. She was awarded a scholarship from the Lazio Region at the Accademia del Superfluo, where she graduated in decoration and restoration of decoration. She studied photography at the Higher Institute of Photography, drawing with Beatrice Tabegna and Ellen Wolf. She studied painting with Fausta D'Ubaldo, from Pedro Cana's school, and with Guido D'Angelo at the Rufa Academy of Fine Arts, where she attended some advanced courses.

In 1990, she began working as a graphic designer at Studio Convertino in Rome. In 1994, she moved into advertising at Saatchi & Saatchi Rome, where she was responsible for creating "Saatchi Design." As creative director of the department, she managed the corporate identity for many clients of the agency. She has won a Bronze Lion at Cannes, two Silver awards at ADCI, two Silver awards at the New York Press and Poster Festival, and a prize for best screenplay at Mezzo Minuto d'Oro. She has accumulated seven entries at ADCI and two at ADCE, and has been a finalist at the Key Awards, Cresta Awards, New York Film Festival, Lapis Annual, Epica, and London International Awards.

She has collaborated as a teacher with the Higher Institute of Photography and the Higher Institute of Design. An artist from always, in 2008 she left her advertising commitments to dedicate herself full-time to creative research. She works in sculpture, painting, photography, and jewelry sculpture. Her deep connection with trees and the environment leads her to explore elements and the intimate relationship between humans and nature, constantly seeking a balance between seemingly opposing and irreconcilable parts such as earth and sky, light and shadow, white and black.

Several people have written about her, including Brunella Buscicchio, Manuela De Leonardis, Anna D'Elia, Francesco Gallo Mazzeo, Roberta Melasecca, and Selene Sconci.
