Masha Gorodilova was born in Siberia, where she received her artistic education, developing a visual sensibility deeply connected to the observation of the human body and emotional expression.
After moving to Italy, she combined her artistic path with a long experience in the fashion world, which helped shape her aesthetic approach—meticulous in detail, gesture, and material, yet always driven by a subtle emotional tension.
She lives and works in Rome, in a penthouse studio where she creates surrounded by urban silence and the constant presence of her two Jack Russell dogs, Zaika and Yoshi—companions in life and recurring figures in her pictorial imagery.
Her research focuses on the relationship between humans and animals, on the vulnerability of imperfect bodies, and on the emotional unease hidden behind delicate forms. She mainly works with mixed media on canvas and paper, using a palette of pastel tones that contrasts with the psychological depth of her compositions.
Her solo and group exhibitions have been hosted in galleries and independent spaces in Italy and abroad. Her work has gained recognition for its ability to evoke genuine emotions, restoring dignity and depth to the animal world in contemporary art.
She currently lives and works in Rome.
