Five years after the exhibition 'The Linguistic Collection', the Ospizio Giovani Artisti presents a new group exhibition with works by seven international artists, all as always coming from the collection of the OGA, in which there are again references to the written language in visual works.
Nicholas Bertini (Verona, Italy, 1987) Since 2008 he is involved in graphic design studios and works for communication agency. During these years he approach the animation passing by motion design and traditional techniques. Currently he is working as a freelancer for animation agency, in parallel of development of experimental short films. His work is based on a constant research in non-conventional visuals and experimenting creative process. His first short Amelia (2015) give the mood of the future films; minimal b&w shots obtained with different styles and media following a narrative plot.
Diana Galimzyanova (Moscow, Russia, 1986) lives and works in Moscow. Filmmaker and video artist, her works have participated in many international group exhibitions and his award-winning film 'The Lightest Darkness' at many film festivals. 'The Loop', the work featured in the exhibition aims to be a reflection on the entire life cycle of a person lived through the prism of alienation. The authentic parts of the multicultural life of the city have been chosen to emphasize the different aspects of existence.
Werther Germondari (Rimini, Italy, 1963) Visual artist, performer and filmmaker. Interested in innovative experimental dynamics that are neo-conceptual and situational, characterized by a taste for the ironic and surreal, Werther Germondari has experimented for 35 years through many different expressive media (from painting to installations, photography to film, videos to live performance). Germondari's works have also been shown in solo exhibitions where he focuses on hidden elements highlighted in styles. In 2013 he created the Ospizio Giovani Artisti.
Valerio Giacone (Roma, Italy, 1976) works as a visual artist in Italy and abroad. It moves between painting and sculpture, up to the site-specific installation. Among the most recent exhibits are the personal Castissimo Virgo (Studio Longo-Bellesi, Florence, 2017), Lucus (Galleria Faber, Rome, 2016, from which comes the work/gadget exhibited) and Roman Metamorphoses (Kunstmassnahmen Art Gallery) , Heidelberg, 2012). Is he a member of the Trees association? Yes please! based in Lugano, which deals with environmental protection through artistic actions and tree planting.
Francesco Impellizzeri (Trapani, Italy, 1958). In his exhibitions he proposes performances and installations in which various artistic expressions (music, theater, painting, etc.) merge by means of irony to obtain also a photographic and pictorial product. In 2013 he created, with the graphic designer, musician and singer Mikele Abramo (Rome, Italy, 1971), 'Arte Clandestina' a project of pictorial/musical events in which the cultural deficiencies of this last twenty years are highlighted through a critical but proactive vision .
David Anthony Sant (Sidney, Australia, 1968) After many years of creating two-dimensional imagery the rapid advances in affordable digital technology allowed me to experiment with the creation of moving imagery he chose to work entirely in digital video since the year 2000. The films he directed and produced combine experimental visuals with experimental sound. A subject that reoccurs in many of the films is the experience of location and space. These films are often films about space and spaciousness as experienced within urban environments.
