OGA for Peace

Four artists, three anti-war perspectives: video, photography, and watercolor to disarm the militarized imagination. Morning opening with American coffee. And an invitation: bring bombs—but only cream-filled.

In a time when the language of war seeps back into everyday life with unsettling ease, this gathering proposes a simple yet radical gesture: to pause, to look, and to disarm. The event brings together three works that, each in its own way, unsettle the militaristic imagination and its normalized forms.

The video Piss Off War stands as a direct, almost visceral refusal of war rhetoric: an act of withdrawal rather than mere denunciation, where rejection itself becomes language. Alongside it, the photograph of two artists, naked, declaring “we do not wear any fucking uniform” presents the body as a site of vulnerability and freedom, opposing the uniform — the ultimate symbol of enforced belonging — with a disarmed, irreducible presence.

The watercolor introduces another dimension: figures of saints appear and dissolve within a web of abstract forms, suggesting a fragile spirituality shaped by contemporary tensions. There is no pacified iconography here, but rather a search for meaning moving between fragmentation and possibility.

The morning opening, with American coffee offered by the space, invites a slower, almost domestic time, in contrast with the urgency of the themes at stake. And yet, even within this convivial setting, a note of irony emerges: visitors are invited to bring “bombs” — but only cream-filled pastries. A small gesture that overturns the symbol of destruction into something to be shared, fleeting, even sweet.

More than an exhibition, this event becomes a collective exercise in imaginative disarmament. An invitation to strip away — uniforms, rhetoric, fears — and make room, if only for a morning, for another way of being present.
