In the 12th centenary of the Basilica of Saint Praxidis, the Vallombrosan Benedictine monks host Week Fans, by Ugo Piccioni. Week Fans is a project on one of the most debated topics of the present: the disinformation.

"The Vallombrosan Benedictine Community of the Monastery of Saint Praxidis in Rome is pleased to announce that the Basilica of Saint Praxidis will celebrate its 1200th Anniversary! The Basilica represents one of the most significant treasures of art, culture and faith in the entire city of Rome. Among the marvels of this Sacred Space, we find the mosaics which elaborate the complex simbology of the Book of Revelation, which are an expression of the so-called "Carolingian renaissance", and the Chapel of Saint Zenon, which is also called the "Garden of Paradise" for the beauty of it mosaics. The Basilica, given to the care of the Vallombrosan monks in 1198 by Pope Innocent III, 820 years ago, has had, among its titular patrons, some figures of extraordinary importance, such as Saint Charles Borromeo and Saint Robert Bellarmine. For us monks, to celebrate such an important centenary means to let know the importance of the Basilica, make it live as a place of encounter and art, as an occasion of contemplation, as a place of divine worship in faith".

Week Fans is an event of the Rome Art Week, scheduled on Saturday, October 14 (last day of the Festival) from 3pm to 6pm. From the following day, until May 27, 2018, the Basilica celebrates its Jubilee. Plenary Indulgence is granted throughout the Jubilee period.
