LIMEN | Cristina Falasca and Davide Viggiano

The artists present original works on the theme of the border and the limit.

LIMEN is the title of the exhibition by Cristina Falasca and Davide Viggiano staged at the Cultural Association TRAleVOLTE in Rome from 07 October 2022. The exhibition project, curated by Maila Buglioni and Ivan D'Alberto, is the result of a collaboration between the Roman space and YAG/garage, an art gallery in Pescara.

Both artists present new works centred on the theme of the 'border', the 'limit', understood both as a physical and abstract place. The choice of the term LIMEN stems from the affinities found in the artistic production of the two authors in which the interest of the social energy that gives strength to the movements of change and transit is evident. Arnol Van Gennep was the first to introduce the concept of liminality, committed to investigating the themes of marginality and acceptance of those individuals belonging to unconventional social categories. Arnol Van Gennep speaks of rites of passage from one condition to another through a change of 'skin' or 'armour'. Our body, characterised by a thin epidermis, can turn out to be as hard and impenetrable as the carapace of a turtle: a materic limit that turns out to be mental most of the time. Cristina Falasca and Davide Viggiano investigate this thin boundary between inside and outside, between thought and matter.

The exhibition, with free entry, can be visited until 29 October at the following times: Monday to Friday from h17:00 to h20:00
