CURRICULUM VITAE

Zeitwille was born in the 80s in northern Europe.

The common theme of human communication, natural symbolism and our individual-collective perspective on reality influences his contemplation. His body of work consists of paintings, murals and installations, and reflects his artistic research on, “Chiaroscuro”, the Impressionist movement and contemporary art.

In 2011 he frequently visited the atelier of the German artist Fritz Fronius, where he started to develop his own way of painting. While learning about and working with traditional methods, combining these new insights with his skills in spray painting, he created his first works on huge surfaces.

Later in 2011 he started displaying the first results of his efforts anonymously in the streets of Heidelberg, receiving immediate attention by the public.

In 2012 he was invited to exhibit during the ‚Long Night of Museums’, a regional art event. In 2013 the University of Heidelberg commissioned a two-year exhibition titled “Everybody is an Artist” for its medieval building “Zeughaus”. The exhibition concentrated, besides other themes, on the topic of “dialogue” displaying large-size portraits facing each other.

In 2015 he left Europe to work with young orphans in Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo. Painting the children and painting with them, he created portraits and African masks. He then sold these artworks and raised funds for the orphanage showing his credo of “Everybody is an Artist”, while acting as a small humanitarian organization. Later that same year, he moved to Rome and founded, together with the Roman Artist Canz-52, an international art project named: “Arte da Rubare”. By putting their artwork in the public space for anybody to “steal”, this project elicits a discussion about accessibility of contemporary art.

In 2017 he exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MACRO) showing his installation “Regina Europa”, which deals with the theme of “global identity”.

Promoting his love for coffee, he recently exhibited at “Sant’Eustachio il Caffé” while working on upcoming shows and installations in Rome, on the themes of “animals”, “identity” and “beauty”.

Searching for a delicate relation between light and shadow, his works create room for interpretations of form and meaning, setting the spectators free in elaborating their own ideas – “Everybody is an Artist”.
